Dec. News

So much happened to give thanks for in the month of November. Mr. McGrath, his students, and their families conducted their annual turkey drive to provide turkeys for area families in need.  Mr. McGrath has organized the turkey drive for 16 years and has raised a grand total of $27,530, including $1,770 this fall which provided a turkey for 200 families.  A huge THANK YOU to all that helped make this possible this year and in years past. We would also like to publicly thank Steve Pelkey and Evan Riva, who donated full meals for approximately 2 dozen grateful BCS families this year!

We would like to thank our school community for a wonderful turnout at our November conferences. This year there was a nice mix of in person and virtual conferences. As always, our conferences were very well attended and we appreciate the time and support from both teachers and families alike.

THANK YOU, Brewer Hannaford and community members who purchased the Hannaford Community Bag during the month of November. BCS received a generous donation from the sale of these bags. We are grateful for the continued support from our local community.

BCS middle school students have been fortunate to take part in a unique opportunity in their PE classes recently.  Middle school PE teacher, Noah Morang, partnered with the First Push Syndicate to bring the training and equipment to BCS.  Students were extremely excited and engaged in this opportunity.

With our first snow of the season and much colder temperatures, it seems that Winter has arrived! A reminder to send students dressed for the weather, as we continue to have outside recess as long as it feels like 10 degrees or above. If your child is in need of cold weather outerwear please reach out to classroom teachers.

December is sure to be a BUSY month, full of activity and fun. Contests for winter athletics begin this week.  We are excited for our student athletes to have the opportunity to perform in front of their families.

BCS will have their first concert of the year on December 11th, at 6:30pm in the PAC.  The concert will feature the 6th through 8th grade concert and jazz bands, directed by Mrs. Lanissa Nadeau. The following evening, December 12th at 6:30pm, we will feature a performance from our grade 3 and 4 chorus along with the BHS chorus, directed by Mrs. Micaela Francis.
