Dear Families,
Despite some warmer days in October, it certainly is feeling more like fall now! October was a very busy month here at school with many things going on. We want to thank our families, staff, and community for all that they do to support and enrich our students on a daily basis!
PK-4 Fire Safety programs
PK-2 Dental Health programs
Spirit week, Trunk-or Treat and Rocktoberfest
Grade 3 guest readers from UM Men’s Basketball team
Grade 6-8 Choices Matter program
Fall NWEA testing for grades 2-8
We would like to thank our PTU for putting on an amazing trunk or treat! Over 500 people were in attendance and a great time was had by all. If you are a parent of a student in grades K-4 please consider joining our PTU. For more information check out their facebook page: PTU Facebook
November is already starting off as another busy month here at BCS. On 11/4, our grade 3 and grade 4 students and staff were able to go to “the Pit” at the University of Maine to watch the Women’s Basketball team play. Education on health and wellness was provided during the game, and students each got a goodby bag too! Below are a few more of the upcoming events in November that we wanted to make you aware of as well.
Our first trimester of the year wraps up on 11/15. Conferences are scheduled for November 25th from 1:00-7:00 and November 26th from 10:00-4:00. Sign ups from teachers and teams were shared with families earlier this week. Just a reminder that there is no school November 27th-29th that week due to the holiday.
Tryouts for winter athletics at BCS begin on Tuesday, November 12th. Students in grades 6-8 will have the opportunity to participate in basketball or cheering at the “A” or “B” level.
