Brewer High School student Cody Fortier earned not one but two silver key honors for the recently announced Maine Scholastic Art Awards.

Cody entered a photography portfolio that he worked on over the summer during his forestry program. This fall he developed his photographs using the high school art department's darkroom.

He won both awards for a single work from the portfolio and also for the overall quality of the entire portfolio. Out of 1000 works of Art and 42 portfolios from the state of Maine, only 1/3 receive awards.

His work will be on view at the Maine College of Art from Feb 14th to March 8th and will go on to be considered in both the Congressional Art Competition and the Maine Excellence in Art Education.
