UPDATE: Brewer High School student Cody Fortier, who earlier this school year earned not one but two silver key honors for the Maine Scholastic Art Awards, has now had his work selected for a statewide art showcase at the Maine state capitol for the Maine Excellence in Arts Education exhibit. The work was selected by a jury of professional artists.
The Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency that supports the arts in Maine, has collaborated with MECA&D, the Scholastic Art & Literary Awards, and Maineās two congressional offices to have access to the submissions for those competitions.
Cody's piece will be exhibited along with other paintings, drawings, digital imagery, photography, collage and graphic arts from students around the state from March 12ā May 30, 2025 at the Capitol Complex in Augusta. Everyone is welcome to go any weekday between 9-5 to view the exhibition.
