The Brewer High School (BHS) Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is an established program at BHS that requires 10% of the school's students -- or approximately 70 students in a school population near 700 -- participate in this program that is a collaboration between the United States Air Force and the Brewer School Department.
Each year select students have the opportunity to go on a live refueling flight with the Maine National Guard. This year the cadets and instructors watched as their aircraft refueled fighter jets somewhere over Long Island, New York.
