It was a memorable weekend as we hosted the Maine Principals Association Regional Drama Festival at the Performing Arts Center at BCS. Nine schools, from Presque Isle to Erskine Academy, competed and Brewer was named Class A Champion for their performance of Exploring Murder. The three-judge panel voted unanimously for the Witches' production. From here Brewer moves on to the State Finals at Lawrence in two weeks .
In addition, the Brewer cast received judges' commendations for the entire acting ensemble, Ashley Staton was recognized for Stage Management, Colin Kimball was honored for his lighting and sound design, and Emma Look, Jahfari Madoo, and Charlotte Morelli were named to the All-Festival Cast.
Big thanks to so many people who made this a team effort, from set designer and tech director John Philbrook (a BYT alum) and his wife, Breanna, our MPA Representative, Brent Slowikowski, Brady Harris, Andy Maxsimic, Terry and Glen Holyoke, David Utterback, Mike Lavin and the maintenance crew, Jason, Allison, Sam, and the staff of BCS for opening their school and classrooms to our students and our guests, and a long list of parents and Brewer Youth Theatre alums who worked to make the festival a success for everyone.
