Maine Construction Academy

Credit Recovery Programs

Forestry & Outdoor Education Summer Program

The Maine Construction Academy is a 6 week program where students will receive hands-on training in how to use hand and power tools, earn OSHA 10 certificate, complete first aid and CPR certification, earn Rigger/Signal Person credential and complete the NCCER core curriculum. Also, in these 6 weeks students will be introduced to several trades including carpentry, electrical, heavy equipment, and many more with on site visits and guest speakers from local construction employers. On the last day, students will attend a career fair where they can potentially be hired or enter in an apprentice program. Additionally, if students attend all 6 weeks they will receive a $1200 stipend and money towards protective gear.

Brewer High School offers summer credit recovery through our Apex program. If interested in pursuing this option please contact your Guidance Counselor in Student Services.

This program is designed to help strengthen basic life within these young adults and create a brighter and bigger future for them. Those certain skills include a higher work ethic combined with teamwork, communication and deeper problem-solving skills. Although these skills are not new, we believe exploring and deepening them within the forest and unique careers, will show new life opportunities. These upcoming six weeks, no matter, if it’s through visiting numerous job sites or through academic time online and hands-on discovery in the forest, what you learn, will be like no other.
